The Grappling Juniper resembles two branchy trees, fighting for life. I have carved away much of the exterior of weathered wood to expose the tree’s core. By following the grain as I carve, the natural features of the piece are exaggerated. Followed by heavy torch work to increase visual contrast. This sculpture is currently on display until February of 2022 at the Gardens on Spring Creek in Fort Collins, CO. The price of this sculpture is $12,000.
